Microsoft Project has lots of useful features and devoting the discipline and time to make it effective will be a challenge. But unlike the openness of a wiki, MS Project documents presents many issues:
Where is the current version of the project plan?
How do I update my portion of someone else's project plan?
How do I share the info in the project plan?
I'm looking for mpp file viewers. I came across a couple candidates.
*Update 11/12/07*: there's a new open source option called:
OpenProj (Free - pc, mac,linux)
HD Projette 3 ($10 - pc only)
Steelray Project Viewer ($35 - pc, mac, unix) Supposedly help facilitate status updates back to project mgr.
Seavus Project Viewer ($39 - pc only)
