Video Conferencing Headphone and Mics

I no longer use a standard headphone + microphone headset. Probably because I didn't want to spend $100+ to get a high quality one. The first one I tried (Plantronics DSP 350?) headphones was too heavy for those hour long calls.

I found the mic on my $100 video cam worked just fine most of the time. I just plug in standard 3.5mm headphones or my iPod earbuds and I'm ready for action. It even works fine when multiple people are on the call because I unplug the headphone and just use the computer's speakers.

When there's too much background noise and I need a mic, I take my handy cell phone hands free headset $10-20 hands free headset and plug it into a neat little $2 adapter (only available
online
)
headphone adapter which plugs into the standard headphone and mic jacks on the computer. Viola, this setup works great, is very light and leaves my hair looking wonderful after 70 minutes. ;)
