Putting the Qs in FAQs

image Kuali Student continues to collect questions, both functional and technical, from project members about Release 1.0. These questions serve as a valuable part of updating project members on the status of R1. Additionally, it is the intention to summarize and package these questions in a format that can be distributed to the external community - both at the implementing institutions and at other potential adopting institutions.

It should be noted that the items on the FAQ collection page of KS Confluence will require additional review prior to dissemination outside the project team.  To submit your questions, you can add them to the comments section of the FAQ page or submit them via e-mail to Communications Manager Scott Shepherd. Identities of question submitters do not need to be included upon posting to KS Confluence.

SWATing Create-A-Course

There continues to be significant and exciting progress in Create-A-Course Kuali Reference University (KRU) specification, a.k.a. Create-A-Course SWAT.

During the recent combined Functional Council-Steering Committee, a review of methodology was completed. Moreover, attendees got a glimpse at the on-going development of usability testing and sample wireframes. While these items continue to evolve, FC and SC were excited about the tangible development of Create-A-Course tools. To take a look, visit the meeting agenda.

Foundation Shift

As many of you have seen, Scott Cooley is stepping down as member liaison at Kuali Foundation. This will likely suspend the foundation’s “Weekly Wok” blog, while impacting internal process for obtaining Kuali Access. Requests should continue to be sent to Kuali access email address previously provided, but management of those requests will now be handled by Kuali Student Communications.

Conferencing In

As in 2008, Berkeley's KS team has been given a poster slot at EDUCASE West on April 15 in San Francisco. This year the conference requested a presentation of Kuali Student Berkeley’s use of communication tools.

On the same day, half way across the country, Richard Spencer of UBC will be presenting an update on Kuali Student at the AACRAO 95th Annual Conference in Chicago.
