Project News
KD 8: Texas Bound
Kuali Foundation officially announced that the Kuali Days VIII conference will be held on November 17 and 18, 2009 in San Antonio, TX.
In addition to the Kuali Days VIII conference event, there will be pre-conference sessions, community meetings, and other networking activities. Once again, there will be multiple tracks available to attendees. The Program Chair and Track Chairs are working diligently on putting together another excellent program.
Additionally, you can expect several Kuali Student project meetings to coincide or adjoin the conference. The details of these meetings will be determined at a later time.
R2 Methodology
As many of you know, the project leadership has worked out the plans for R2 Methodology. Take some time to review the methodology plans on the KS wiki, including the steps, the artifacts for each step and the timeframe. Also take a moment to review the updated Transition Plan.
Name That Release
As noted in the previous blog post, there is a movement to rename Release 1 to something this is a little more accessible and descriptive to the broader Kuali Student Community.
The committee is moving closer to labeling R1 as “Curriculum Development and Management,” but your suggestions will be welcome until next Wednesday. Visit the What is in a Name – R1 page on the KS wiki to share your suggestions.
KS Video Bridge Scheduling
Planning on using the Kuali Student video bridge for an upcoming meeting? Check out the KS video bridge schedule before making your plans and coordinating with your team.
The KS Team Leads are in the process of updating their schedule for standing meetings. Once they are done, this page will become the reference point for future video bridge meetings. A similar page for the KS Breeze will be updated soon.
The First Line of Defense
You may hate those "your password will expire in x days" warnings, but the fact is that passwords remain the first line of online security. And in terms of password protection, the KS Confluence and JIRA could use some improvement.
As such, it is recommended that you take a moment to change your password, particularly if it is the same as what you were originally given.
In Confluence, to change your password:
- Click on the 'Preferences' link located below the breadcrumbs at the top of the page under her name.
- Click on the 'Edit Profile' tab.
- Click the 'Password' link in the left-hand column.
- Enter your current password and your new password in the form displayed.
- Click 'Save' to save your changes.
In JIRA, to change your password:
- Click your user name at the top-right of the page to open your User Profile.
- Click the 'Change Password' link at the left of the page.
- Type your old password into the 'Current Password' field, and type your new password into the 'New Password' and 'Confirm Password' fields.
- Click the 'Update' button.
