Kuali Rice received tremendous interest at Kuali Days VIII around the newly completed roadmap, which outlines the release plans and future directions for the Rice middleware. Review the Kuali Rice Roadmap.

A funding model for Rice was also proposed that would lower the bar for schools to join the Kuali Foundation and use Rice in their future technology plans. Those plans are not yet approved.

Kuali Foundation Grows

In Foundation news, the Kuali Open Library Environment (OLE) (pronounced Oh-LAY) project was launched to develop software created specifically for the complex business management and workflow operations of academic and research libraries. The Foundation will also soon launch Kuali Ready, a disaster recovery, business continuity, Software as a Service (SaaS) project. Read more about OLE.
