KEW Seminar, part I

Did you miss the Kuali Enterprise Workflow (KEW) overview seminar from earlier this month? Check out the presentation and discussion notes on the content-based routing engine and the need to merge KS requirements with RICE/KEW functionality to the greatest extent possible. This seminar is a step towards that goal. Also, keep an eye out for KEW Seminar II: Technical Overview.

Course Management Fun at Berkeley

image On Sept. 28, staff from diverse parts of the University of California,
Berkeley campus got together to draw houses and brainstorm ideas for a new online course approval system. The drawing exercise was designed to communicate the concept of participatory design and set expectations for how the User Testing and Advisory Group (UTAG) and the project team will work together on Curriculum Management Implementation (CMI).

A steering committee has set a narrow, short scope of this initial phase of the project. The initial goal is to replace the paper course approval process used in the Academic Senate by June 2010.  The UTAG group got it's first peek at data entry screen mockups on 10/18 as the project team took them through a series of individual, small group and large groups exercises designed to refine screen design and project requirements.

For Developers Only: Updated Forum

Due to recurring bugs with the message boards in Sakai, there has been a shift in some of the KS Developer collaboration tools. This is for developers only, and they are use them and make recommendations to improve them.

The KS Developers Forum will be the primary location to share ideas, communicate between teams, and share developer tips and tricks. The existing ks.development community email remains available for communications across dev teams.
