Infrastructure Integration Workshop
Workshop notes: https://test.kuali.org/confluence/x/QALlBQ
- Authorization service implementation reviewed. No administrative UI yet but will be a Rice/KNS UI most likely.
- Workflow implementation options reviewed:
a) Proposal kept in workflow xml til approved. LU service consulted for validation at different states.
b) Proposal is stored in system of record with different states - Search implementation reviewed. Need named searches for individual services.
- Dictionary enumerations use XML annotations. Use qName to point to enumeration. Generic solution for type-state service configuration.
- BRMS working as a web service. Start on a generic GWT authoring interface.
- Service implementation specifications reviewed for Authorization config, Workflow, Domain specific business rules in domain specific language, Within domain business rules, Type/State configuration.
Outstanding Issues:
1. Resolve the workflow issues.
2. Services team completes structure of type/state config.
3. Decide software implementation of type/state config.

Misc Tidbits
UX Lead Holds Class for a Day
There are a few ways that the KS project can benefit from having team members connected to students:
- Students are future users of KS. Any connection with them keeps them in our awareness.
- Students can support usability testing of prototypes by participating in testing.
- If it is relevant to class curriculum, students can support User Centered Design efforts by assisting in contextual inquiry, data analysis, etc.
- Connection with the KS project builds awareness in the student body.
With these benefits in mind, Rachel Hollowgrass (KS UX Lead) agreed to teach a class last week at Berkeley's graduate school of information. While Erik Wilde was away she gave a lecture on usability to his Web Architecture class. Her slides are posted here: http://dret.net/lectures/web-fall08/usability.pdf
